Expected increase in gifts for the elderly in Dong Nai province

Accordingly, after the arrangement of provincial administrative units, Dong Nai province has 2 resolutions of the Provincial People's Council regulating the level of gifts for the elderly. However, these 2 resolutions are different in terms of the level of gifts for the elderly. In which, the highest level of gifts for the elderly is the level for the elderly who reach 100 years old (in the old Binh Phuoc, it was 4 million VND/person).

From 2020-2025, implementing two resolutions of Dong Nai (old) and Binh Phuoc (old) provinces, more than 224,300 elderly people were congratulated and celebrated their longevity with a total cost of more than 120.3 billion VND.

To unify the level of spending on birthdays and longevity celebrations, Dong Nai has drafted a new resolution with the following gift and longevity celebration levels:

The gift for the elderly aged 70 and 75 is 600,000 VND/person; for the elderly aged 80 and 85 is 800,000 VND/person; for the elderly aged 90 is 1.5 million VND/person (including 1 million VND in cash and a gift worth 500,000 VND/person); for the elderly aged 95 is 1.7 million VND/person (including 1.2 million VND in cash and a gift worth 500,000 VND/person).

The gift level for the elderly who reach 100 years old is 5 million VND/person (including 2 million VND in cash; a gift worth 500,000 VND/person; 5 meters of silk worth 700,000 VND and a longevity plaque (or painting) worth 1.8 million VND). This level of expenditure includes the longevity gift from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which is higher than the old level of expenditure.

The gift for the elderly over 100 years old is 3 million VND/person (including 2.5 million VND in cash and a gift worth 500,000 VND/person).

The budget for longevity wishes and gifts for the elderly aged 100 and 90 is arranged in the annual regular expenditure estimate of the Department of Health.

The budget for celebrating longevity and giving gifts to the elderly aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 95 and over 100 years old is arranged in the annual regular expenditure estimates of the People's Committees of communes and wards.
