Specifically, the progress update to the afternoon of November 24 shows that the units have basically completed handling the incident at Km1211-Km1215, Hao Son - Phu Hiep section ( Khanh Hoa province), where the roadbed has been washed away and the road centerline has deviated by 4m. This is a particularly difficult area because there is only one access by rail, causing many obstacles to the construction work. The construction team is working hard to fix the problem and is expected to restore the road at 10:00 p.m. on November 24.
By November 25, the four railway management units of Phu Khanh, Thuan Hai, Nghia Binh and Thanh Hoa will concentrate their efforts on deploying three construction teams at the Phu Hiep - Dong Tac section (Khanh Hoa province), striving to complete construction, load testing and safety inspection by 10 p.m. the same day. The line is expected to open on the night of November 25 or early morning of November 26.
A representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation said that on the afternoon of November 24, the weather started to rain again, the water receded slowly, and many locations continued to see rolling rocks and falling rocks... Currently, nearly 800 workers from 4 railway management units are actively handling the incident and soon restoring train operations.
At the same time, Saigon Locomotive Enterprise has completed the preparation of 3 flooded locomotives at Chi Thanh and Hao Son stations (Dak Lak province); of which, 1 locomotive is being pulled to Da Nang (already arrived at Bong Son station), the remaining 2 locomotives are ready to be pulled to Ho Chi Minh City as soon as the route is cleared.
The Railway Transport Company continues to maintain a safe transport plan for passengers, while adjusting train schedules to suit the infrastructure situation during the recovery phase.
