After two quiet days of the holiday, tourist destinations across the country began to bustle from the third day of Tet. Accommodation businesses and travel agencies said the peak tourist season during Tet lasted until the fifth day.
According to the survey, the accommodation locations in the center of Da Lat city All hotels are fully booked from the 2nd to the 6th day of Tet. A local tour guide said that visitors to Da Lat during Tet often gather at places where cherry blossoms bloom in Cau Dat, Tuyen Lam Lake, the flower road in Bunny Hill, Ward 11, and some central streets. However, the number of visitors to these places is not as high as last year.
"The streets in the city center were crowded on the 3rd but there was no traffic jam, and the night market on the 2nd was not overloaded. The peak time for bookings is from the 2nd to the 5th," said the male tour guide.
Mr. Le Anh Kiet, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City, said that the number of tourists to Da Lat from February 8 to February 12 is estimated at 153,000, an increase of 22.4% over the same period in 2023.
In Phan Thiet , the number of visitors began to pour into the city from the afternoon of the 3rd. Homestay businesses on Phu Quy Island , Binh Thuan said that the number of guests started to increase from the 4th day of Tet (February 12). According to Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Director of Phu Quy Island Tourism Cooperative, more than 1,000 guests have booked to go to the island on the 4th day of Tet. During the first 3 days of the year, the sea was rough and the weather was unfavorable, so the boats to the island had to temporarily stop. "The weather is now stable, and businesses on the island are ready to serve guests. The number of guests after the 4th day will continue to increase," said Mr. Huynh Ka, representative of Nha Minh homestay.
Vung Tau City also began to welcome a large number of visitors from the afternoon of the 3rd day of Tet. According to records, most visitors to Vung Tau are residents of the province and neighboring localities and visitors tend to book rooms spontaneously.
The occupancy rate of hotels in the central and coastal areas reached about 40% on the 1st and 2nd. A representative of Malibu Hotel said that the number of guests who booked in advance accounted for about 35% of the capacity, mainly individual guests. Meanwhile, some resorts on the Long Hai - Ho Tram coastal route reported full rooms. The general manager of Palace Long Hai Resort said that from the 2nd to the 5th, the resort had no more vacant rooms.
The Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province counted the total number of visitors for tourism, entertainment, and accommodation at hotels, tourist areas, and beaches across the province on the second day of Tet as more than 130,000. Room occupancy is about 35-45%, focusing on the 3-star segment and above. It is forecasted that from the third day of Tet, more tourists will come to visit, and room occupancy across the province is expected to be higher.
This year, the number of visitors to Phu Quoc Island is not as expected, said Mr. Truong Phu Quoc, a local tour guide who is leading a group of 20 tourists on the island. Every year, during peak times like Tet, his company has to have 100-200 visitors per day, so the tour guides often have to "go out" to support each other a lot.
According to the reporter's records, international visitors are mainly concentrated in the two northern and southern areas of the island, while the central ward of Duong Dong is not crowded. The Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism reported that from February 8 to 12 (28th of Tet to 3rd of Tet), the province welcomed more than 192,000 visitors, an increase of 43.3% over the same period last year, of which international visitors reached more than 34,000. Total tourism revenue reached more than 704 billion VND - a sharp increase thanks to the large number of international visitors.

In Thua Thien Hue, the number of visitors to the province during the 5-day Tet holiday is estimated at about 100,000 (an increase of about 17.64% compared to 2023), room occupancy is estimated at 62%, accommodation revenue is estimated at 115 billion VND. In Ho Chi Minh City , many travel companies operate throughout Tet to serve locals and tourists. Mr. Nguyen Kim Toan, Director of Thuong Nhat Company, said that river buses and double-decker buses operate continuously during pick-up times. On average, there are 7-9 double-decker river bus trips (Saigon River Sightseeing tour) running every day, serving about 50 passengers. The number of foreign visitors currently accounts for about 5-10%.

Vietluxtour Travel Company also serves intra-city tours during Tet, the number of international visitors to the company during this Lunar New Year increased by 50% compared to the same period last year. Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that international visitors to the city during the Lunar New Year 2024 are estimated at about 75,000, up 15.4% over the same period in 2023. Visitors to tourist areas, attractions, entertainment venues and services are estimated at about 1.8 million, up 5.9% over the same period. Revenue is estimated at about VND 6,550 billion.
