Ninh Binh tourism flourishes at the beginning of the year

Many tourists come to visit and experience Ninh Binh .

At Khe Coc Island tourist area, part of Trang An heritage, this is a new tourism product of the province to recreate the cultural space of prehistoric people in Trang An. This product officially came into operation to serve tourists during the Lunar New Year this year, welcoming a large number of domestic and international tourists.

The family of Ms. Lin Pao Yu, a tourist from Taiwan (China) said: “We chose to experience and celebrate Tet in Vietnam to understand more about the cultural traditions of your country. We are very happy to be one of the first tourists to set foot on Khe Coc Island, to receive flowers and gifts, the tourist area is wonderful. We will come back here again.”

Sharing the same sentiment, Mojens Randall from Denmark excitedly shared: “I had an interesting experience in Ninh Binh, especially celebrating New Year’s Eve and eating traditional dishes with Vietnamese friends. This is a memorable memory for me.”

These days, in the ancient town of Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh city, a lot of people and tourists come to visit and experience the "Old Tet Market". Here, the Tet market of the people of the Northern Delta is recreated with a series of experiential activities: Cuisine, gifts, Tet flowers, handicrafts, clothes, decorations, calligraphers, figurines... or competitions: Chung cake wrapping, folk games and art programs.

Ms. Tran Thi Diep Anh, Director of Hoa Lu Ancient Town Management Board, Ninh Binh city said, "The Old Tet Market" is an opportunity for people and tourists to immerse themselves in the Tet atmosphere as well as learn about the culture and traditional values of the nation.

In addition to honoring and promoting traditional cultural values and typical local products, the market also brings a traditional Tet atmosphere for people and tourists to experience and explore together, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional values of Vietnamese culture and people.

Tourists coming to Ninh Binh this time will experience many unique cultural spaces, especially Vietnamese Tet experience activities organized at tourist areas, destinations, homestays, hotels, and visit and learn about new attractive tourism products such as Khe Coc Island.

Director of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh said that during the 4-day holiday from February 8 to 11 (ie from the 28th to the 2nd day of Tet), the whole province welcomed 126,980 visitors, an increase of 50% compared to 2023; of which, there were 17,340 international visitors.

In particular, in the first two days of the new year alone, Ninh Binh province welcomed a sudden increase in the number of tourists with more than 113,000 visitors; including nearly 14,000 international visitors.

Typical visitors to some tourist areas and destinations such as: Trang An tourist area, Bai Dinh pagoda, Tam Coc-Bich Dong tourist area, Thung Nham bird garden, Mua cave; Hoa Lu ancient town; Cuc Phuong national park,...

In recent days, tourist areas and spots in the province have been well prepared in terms of facilities and human resources to serve tourists; security and tourism civilization have been ensured; and tourism promotion activities in Ninh Binh have been promoted on the media.

2024 is a special year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage. With positive signals at the beginning of the new year, Ninh Binh province expects to achieve the goal set by the Ninh Binh tourism industry to welcome 7.5 million visitors, including 900,000 international visitors, with estimated revenue of VND 8,250 billion.

In order to maintain security and order, so that people can enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet safely, the Ninh Binh Provincial Police force focuses on maintaining security, order, social stability, and ensuring absolute safety for the 2024 Lunar New Year.

The number of visitors to Ninh Binh is expected to continue to increase in the coming days. Ninh Binh Provincial Police will proactively grasp the situation, promptly detect and advise on the stable resolution of incidents related to security and order from a distance, early, from the grassroots level, to prevent complicated incidents from arising, forming "hot spots" of security and order.

In addition to carrying out a high-point campaign to crack down on crime, the police force also focused on traffic flow and ensuring traffic safety at tourist sites and major festivals in the province; raising public awareness through propaganda work and signing commitments to mobilize people to voluntarily comply with traffic safety laws.
