According to the UN Tourism Organization, the number of international tourists last year increased by 4% compared to the 1.4 billion projected for 2024, reaching its highest level in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period.
Notably, Africa is projected to see growth of up to 8%, reaching 81 million visitors in 2025. Asia is also witnessing a 6% increase in international tourist arrivals, reaching 331 million, equivalent to 91% of pre-pandemic levels.

Meanwhile, Europe continues to hold its position as the world's most visited region, attracting 793 million tourists last year. This figure represents a 4% increase compared to 2024 and a 6% increase compared to 2019, before the pandemic paralyzed the global tourism industry.
In a press release, the Secretary-General of the UN Tourism Organization, Shaikha Alnuwais, stated that tourism demand remains high throughout 2025, despite related services facing high inflation and uncertainties due to geopolitical tensions.
This Madrid-based agency forecasts that the positive trend will continue this year thanks to a stable global economy and the full recovery of destinations that lagged behind after the pandemic.
