Charity tourism - Journey of connecting hearts

In recent years, the tourism model combined with volunteer activities has been increasingly welcomed by many tourists. Not only exploring beautiful landscapes and learning about culture, but each trip also brings gifts and shares to students, people in remote areas, ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas.

“Warm clothes for you” - A journey of persistently sowing love

Launched in 2012, the program "Warm clothes for children" of Vietravel Hanoi has become a beautiful mark in community activities.

For nearly 15 years, the journey has regularly passed through the Northeast - Northwest routes such as Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang , Son La, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho..., delivering warmth and love to thousands of students in the highlands.

Not just gift-giving trips, each destination is an emotional encounter where visitors can exchange cultures, talk with teachers and students, and learn about life in the highlands.

Here, the delegation directly donated warm clothes, blankets, bunk beds, reference books, school supplies and other necessities suitable to the needs of each school.

These simple but practical gifts contribute to improving learning and living conditions, helping children confidently go to school, where knowledge opens up the future.

Crossing mountains, bringing warmth to the village

Continuing that journey, from September 2025, the program "Warm Clothes for Children" was relaunched. The first stop was Lung Day Kindergarten, in Quoc Toan Commune, Cao Bang Province, a small school perched precariously in the mountains and forests. The simple classrooms here are the learning place for more than 30 H'Mong ethnic children, whose parents' lives are still full of hardship. Every day, the children have to climb slopes, wade through streams, and even walk dozens of kilometers to get to class.

The charity program was held at the village cultural house, right next to the school, a simple but cozy space, where the whole village gathered to share love. The atmosphere was filled with the laughter of children, mixed with the emotions of teachers and visitors, making the gift giving ceremony a real festival in the mountains and forests.

Then, last weekend, the group traveled more than 200 km of winding mountain passes to Huoi Hai village, to Tong Chieng Kindergarten and Primary School (part of Chieng Sung Primary and Secondary School), Mai Son commune, Son La province.

The journey was arduous but warm, when more than 150 Hmong students, children who walk many kilometers every day to class, received televisions, refrigerators to preserve food, bunk beds, warm clothes, school supplies, gifts... with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND.

These simple yet practical gifts not only help teachers and students have better conditions for studying and living, but also bring faith, joy and warmth of humanity in the winter of the mountainous region.

Ms. Duong Van, a teacher at the school, was moved and shared: “Winter is harsh every year, but this year will be much warmer thanks to the group’s generosity. Not only the gifts, but also the care that warms our hearts and the children’s.” Not only the recipients, but also the givers are “given” and receive valuable lessons.

Mr. Pham Thanh Tung (Hanoi) confided: “I want my children to have the experience to understand that there are many children out there who have a harder time. This trip makes the whole family happy, because we get to give and receive love.”

After sharing moments, visitors continue their journey to explore Moc Chau: walking in Ban Ang pine forest, relaxing at Phoenix Resort, visiting Mocha Hill, Moc Chau Island, going on Bach Long glass bridge, experiencing making peanut candy, admiring the ripe rose garden in the cold weather...

According to Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi, the company organizes at least two charity tours each year, supporting 100% of the travel and gift delivery costs, and encouraging tourists to prepare their own gifts. “The good news is that the number of registered customers has increased steadily, not only individual customers but also groups and business groups participating,” Mr. Bay shared. From these steps, tourism does not stop at just experiences but becomes a journey to spread the spirit of kindness.
