Bringing Hoang Sa closer to the young generation

Over the years, cadres and party members of the Hoang Sa Special Zone Party Cell (Party Committee of the Department of Home Affairs) have persistently carried out the task of propagating and educating about sea and island sovereignty, notably the model "Hoang Sa in schools".

Exhibitions and new forms of interaction have helped students easily absorb and remember Vietnam's sovereignty over seas and islands.

Model "Paracel Islands in school"

From the fact that many young people have not had full, intuitive access to the historical and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago, the Hoang Sa Special Zone Party Committee has built and deployed the model "Hoang Sa in schools" with a new approach: bringing documents out of the exhibition space, directly to educational institutions.

In 2025, the model "Hoang Sa in school" continues to make a strong impression when bringing historical documents, ancient maps, images and experiential activities directly to students in Da Nang city, becoming one of the bright spots of the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" movement at the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Da Nang city.

During the year, Hoang Sa Exhibition House coordinated with the Da Nang City Youth Union, the Political Department - Naval Region 3 Command and secondary schools, high schools, colleges and universities to organize 16 mobile exhibitions, attracting more than 30,000 students to attend.

Exhibitions displaying ancient maps, valuable documents, Nguyen Dynasty records and new forms of interaction have helped students easily absorb and remember.

Notably, more than 8,600 students participated in experiential programs and direct learning activities, an increase of 1.6 times compared to 2024, showing the increasingly strong spread of the model.

According to the Hoang Sa Special Zone Party Cell, propaganda about sea and island sovereignty is only effective when learners have access to documents in a visual and vivid way.

Therefore, the model focuses on combining many forms such as: displaying maps and historical documents through many periods; organizing practical experiences and interactive games; introducing "Hoang Sa Corner" at schools; issuing bilingual leaflets to disseminate sovereignty knowledge; applying technology in educational communication.

Thanks to this, not only students but also teachers, parents and the community have access to official, scientific information about Hoang Sa. Many teachers evaluate the model as helping them have more resources to serve the teaching of History, Geography and Civic Education.

Wide and sustainable impact

The model "Hoang Sa in school" has become one of the highlights of skillful mass mobilization work in the cultural and social fields of the city.

Notable results include: 5 new “Hoang Sa Corners” were established in schools; 2,000 bilingual brochures were widely distributed; hundreds of digital media products spread on social networks; awareness of sea and island sovereignty was significantly raised among students, as more and more students proactively learned more about Hoang Sa.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Hoang Sa Special Zone Party Cell Le Tien Cong, the model not only provides knowledge, but also contributes to fostering patriotism, national pride and awareness of protecting sea and island sovereignty in the young generation.

With the achieved results, the model "Hoang Sa in schools" is assessed by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to be sustainable and highly replicable.

Mr. Le Tien Cong said that in the coming time, we will continue to improve the content, upgrade the model standards in the direction of diversifying on-site and online propaganda activities; strongly develop digital content on tiktok, fanpage, website; build a set of digital communication materials including videos, infographics, 3D photos, VR; collect documents, artifacts, publications about Hoang Sa and the culture of the sea and islands of the Central region; build software to store digital data...

At the same time, expand coordination with schools, press, mass organizations and communities to proactively bring Hoang Sa documents closer to the people.

The model of “Hoang Sa in schools” is not only an educational initiative, but also demonstrates the efforts of cadres and party members at the forefront of propaganda work on seas and islands. Through this, history and national sovereignty are conveyed to the next generation in a practical, close and responsible way, contributing to fostering pride and love for the homeland’s seas and islands.
