According to Spiegel , German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has prepared a package of approximately 30 PAC-3 missiles contributed by European partners and allies to supplement Ukraine's air defense stockpiles. Along with other missiles supplied by Germany from its own military reserves, Ukraine is expected to receive a total of around 35 interceptor missiles in the coming weeks.

In addition to Patriot missiles, Berlin will continue to support Kyiv with various other systems and components, including man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), AIM-9 air-to-air missiles, German-made IRIS-T guided missiles for the air defense system, and components for repairing and maintaining Patriot and IRIS-T systems.
Earlier, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Pistorius stated that Germany was ready to supply five PAC-3 missiles from the Bundeswehr's stockpile if partners could jointly mobilize an additional 30 missiles. Several countries, including the Netherlands, have pledged to participate in this effort.
However, Spiegel noted that Ukraine needs an average of about 60 interceptor missiles per month. Therefore, the aid package would only be enough to meet needs for about half a month.
Last February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that due to a severe shortage of PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system, the country's air defense units had run out of supplies the previous month, rendering them unable to effectively intercept Russian ballistic missile attacks.
Zelensky also emphasized that Ukrainian defense forces have made a significant contribution to protecting cities from Russian drone attacks. However, he acknowledged that current defense capabilities are still insufficient, especially in key areas.
Meanwhile, the New York Times recently reported that tensions and conflicts between the U.S., Israel, and Iran have diverted the attention of some Western countries, disrupting the supply of new missiles for Ukraine's air defense systems.
