Use personal identification number as tax code

People only need to use a series of numbers on their ID card to fulfill their tax obligations, instead of a separate tax code as before. This is to cut down and simplify administrative procedures, reducing the burden on people and businesses in accordance with the Prime Minister 's direction. The tax data system will be linked with the national population database, ensuring that each individual has only one unique tax code. Taxpayers will not have to perform any additional procedures if the information matches the population database. In case of mismatch, the information must be updated before continuing to use the tax code.
