Traffic on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway has been temporarily suspended.

After announcing its opening at 11:00 AM on February 12, 2026, to serve travel needs during the Lunar New Year holiday, Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Construction) unexpectedly issued an urgent document regarding the temporary suspension of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway due to insufficient safety conditions for operation.

On February 12th, Project Management Board 2 ( Ministry of Construction ) announced the suspension of traffic on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday.

Previously, on February 11, 2026, this unit announced the opening and commissioning of the section of the route from 11:00 AM on February 12 to meet the increased travel demand of people during the Tet holiday.

However, according to Project Management Board 2, during the inspection and evaluation of the road's operational capacity, several situations arose related to safety assurance, particularly the handling of potential incidents on the route. Upon review, the conditions for traffic flow are currently not fully met as required.

Therefore, the unit decided to temporarily suspend traffic flow to further complete the necessary conditions, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles when the road is put into operation.

Project Management Board 2 has apologized for this sudden change and requested the People's Committees of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces to widely disseminate information to local authorities and residents in the area regarding the temporary suspension of traffic on the aforementioned section of the route.
