On the afternoon of January 18th, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vinh, Director of the Road Infrastructure Management Center ( Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction), stated that relevant units are currently investigating and assessing the cause of serious subsidence and landslides along a section of Ba Dinh road adjacent to the Tau Hu canal.
The landslide occurred on Ba Dinh Street in Chanh Hung Ward. Authorities and local government officials have erected barriers and tarpaulins around the landslide area along the Tau Hu Canal, adjacent to Hung Phu Park, to protect the site and facilitate investigation and remediation efforts.
Many residents in the area reported that at around 6 a.m. that same day, long cracks appeared along the canal bank, and then a large section of soil and concrete from the road surface suddenly collapsed into the canal.
The landslide is approximately 40-50 meters long, encroaching on Ba Dinh Street, right next to the park.
Currently, units are on the scene to assess the scale of the landslide, evaluate the actual situation, and determine the cause and remedial measures.
