(DN) - From this morning (December 1), trucks over 5 tons are banned from traveling on the entire Bui Huu Nghia Street (Bien Hoa Ward, Dong Nai Province) from 5am to 10pm every day. This is to reduce congestion and limit accidents on the road with high traffic density.

On the first day of implementation, this route reduced traffic congestion, motorbikes moved more easily and safely. Before the implementation, the authorities stepped up propaganda, distributed leaflets and installed signs so that drivers and transport businesses could grasp information and avoid violations. Prohibited vehicles can choose alternative routes to ensure smooth transport operations.

Bui Huu Nghia Street, from Ong Tiep Bridge to Tan Van Bridge, is a vital traffic route, with a high volume of trucks and trailers. The high traffic pressure makes this area potentially unsafe. Statistics show that there have been many serious accidents in the past, requiring the locality to tighten traffic management.

According to Bien Hoa Ward People's Committee, the adjustment of the ban hours was made after consulting with local people and receiving consensus from relevant parties.
