*Pig price in the North
Pig prices in the Northern region mainly fluctuated between 64,000 - 65,000 VND/kg. Provinces such as Thai Binh and Nam Dinh recorded the highest price in the region at 65,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Other provinces such as Hanoi, Hai Duong, Bac Giang , Hung Yen and Vinh Phuc kept prices stable at 64,000 VND/kg.
*Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price of live pigs has decreased slightly, ranging from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak is currently the locality with the lowest price in the region at 61,000 VND/kg. Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces recorded a price of 62,000 VND/kg, while other localities such as Lam Dong and Binh Thuan still maintained the price of 64,000 VND/kg.
*Price of live pigs in the South
The Southern market is generally stable, with live hog prices ranging from 62,000 to 64,000 VND/kg. In Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, prices are around 64,000 VND/kg, down slightly from yesterday. Ho Chi Minh City and Long An also recorded similar prices. In some localities such as Ben Tre and Tien Giang, live hog prices are currently at 62,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.
*More than 1 ton of pig feet of unknown origin discovered in Hanoi
Hanoi City Police informed that at around 9:30 a.m. on October 11, the Economic Police Team, Tay Ho District Police, Hanoi City coordinated with Market Management Team No. 9, Hanoi Market Management Department to inspect the goods gathering point on Au Co Street, Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District, and discovered a truck parked with suspicious signs.
Immediately afterwards, the working group conducted an administrative inspection. At the time of the inspection, the working group discovered that the vehicle contained 161 plastic bags containing 1,610 kg of pork legs being transported for consumption, without invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods.
The working group has drawn up a record to confiscate all the above food for destruction and impose penalties for trading in goods of unknown origin according to regulations.
