(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Early this July, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - Quang Ngai Branch ( Agribank Quang Ngai) will celebrate its 35th anniversary (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2024). Over the past 35 years, Agribank Quang Ngai has continuously strived to improve, making important contributions to the province's socio-economic development.

In the early days of its establishment, Agribank Quang Ngai had a total capital of 9.7 billion VND; total outstanding loans of 12.6 billion VND; a payroll of 737 employees; revenue that did not guarantee salary payments to employees. In the face of these difficulties and challenges, generations of leaders, employees and workers at Agribank Quang Ngai united, made efforts, strived and persistently followed the development goals of Agribank Vietnam and proactively proposed specific action programs, thus achieving some positive results.

2019 marks the 30-year journey of building and developing Agribank Quang Ngai. At that time, Agribank Quang Ngai had a total capital of more than 13 trillion VND, outstanding loans of more than 11 trillion VND. This is also an important year in the roadmap for implementing the Business Strategy Project for the period 2016 - 2020, with a vision to 2030.

Up to now, Agribank Quang Ngai is the only commercial bank with a network covering the entire province, with 14 type II branches and 10 transaction offices in districts, towns and cities. With the motto: "Rural areas are the market, agriculture is the lending object, farmers are the main customers", outstanding loans in the fields of agriculture, rural areas and farmers at Agribank Quang Ngai always account for over 80% of the unit's outstanding loans.

In 2022, Agribank Quang Ngai has spent 4 billion VND on social security activities; of which, the education sector is more than 1.3 billion VND, the health sector is nearly 400 million VND, sponsoring the construction of gratitude houses, housing for the poor, solidarity houses is about 680 million VND, sponsoring the overcoming of natural disaster consequences and for other purposes is more than 870 million VND. At the same time, sponsoring Navy units, supporting Tet gifts for the poor with hundreds of millions of VND... Agribank Quang Ngai also supports customers and people to overcome difficulties, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic with loan packages and preferential interest rate support.

Agribank Quang Ngai cooperated with Quang Ngai Newspaper to support the cost of building a house for the family of Ms. Dang Thi Thu Lieu (39 years old), in Vinh Tuy village, Tinh Hiep commune.

In 2023, Agribank Quang Ngai will spend over 3.6 billion VND on social security policies. Of which, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, Agribank Quang Ngai will give nearly 600 gifts, worth 500 million VND to policy households and poor households in the province.

For individual customers borrowing capital for production and business activities, Agribank has allocated VND50 trillion to implement a preferential short-term loan program with interest rates starting from only 3.0%/year. Agribank has also allocated VND10 trillion to implement a preferential credit program with interest rates starting from only 4.0%/year for individual customers borrowing capital for living needs.

Agribank Quang Ngai supports customers with biometric authentication on the Agribank Plus application.

For the preferential loan program for OCOP customers in production and business, Agribank has allocated VND2 trillion to implement a preferential credit program with an interest rate of up to 2.0%/year lower than Agribank's lending interest rate floor. In addition, Agribank Quang Ngai is implementing a preferential credit program for small and medium enterprises with an interest rate 1 - 1.5% lower than the normal lending interest rate floor, reserving VND15 trillion to finance investment projects in 6 key industries and green projects, with a fixed interest rate of only 6%/year in the first year.

For the credit program accompanying import-export enterprises in 2024, Agribank has reserved 20 trillion VND in incentives for legal customers and private enterprises engaged in production, import-export business with interest rates 2%/year to 2.4%/year lower than the normal lending interest rate floor.
