Red River Festival 2025
The 2025 Red River Festival will be held in Lao Cai province with the theme "Where the Red River flows into Vietnam" from November 18-24.
The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 19 at Nam Cuong Square, Cam Duong Ward, with a ceremony, special art program and 15 minutes of low-altitude fireworks display broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
About 500 guest delegates are expected, including leaders of the Party, State, ministries and international guests such as ambassadors from France, China, Denmark, India, Thailand, Laos and a delegation from Yunnan province.
Within the framework of the Festival, there will be special activities: experiencing the national cultural space from November 18-24 at Kim Tan Square, organizing 13 exhibition spaces, reenacting cultural rituals, performing folk songs and dances, handicrafts, and typical OCOP products.
Exhibition of documents and artifacts on Red River culture and cooperation in developing the Red River basin and Yunnan, China.
Along with that, in Coc Leu market area and An Duong Vuong street, "Ancient Coc Leu Market" is recreated with the ancient market cultural space, scenes of daily life, trade and folk games.
Vietnam-China sports exchange activities, 11-a-side football exchange competition between business and youth teams of Lao Cai province and Yunnan province at Lao Cai Provincial Stadium.
On this occasion, many other activities were also held such as the "Red River Festival" Golf Tournament 2025; the "One track, two countries" international cycling race (Hong Ha - Lao Cai), the 2025 Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival in Van Chan commune with the theme "Tea scent in the clouds"...
The Red River Festival 2025 is an event of important political, diplomatic, economic and cultural significance, contributing to creating momentum to promote economic growth and expand cooperation and foreign relations between Lao Cai, the Red River basin provinces of Vietnam and Yunnan province, China.
At the same time, it affirms the strategic position of Lao Cai, honors the unique cultural values of the Red River civilization, educates on the tradition of national solidarity and arouses pride in the history of Lao Cai.
