International Experimental Theatre Festival 2025
The 6th International Experimental Theatre Festival 2025 will take place from November 15 to 30.
The festival will feature nearly 1,000 artists from nearly 30 professional domestic and international performing arts units. Among them, there will be 10 works by international units from the Philippines, Poland, China, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan.
This is a rare opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to access experimental works with diverse theatrical styles and thinking from many countries.
Within the framework of the festival, there are about 29 plays performed in many different genres, such as: Spoken drama, pantomime, physical drama, musical, Cheo, Tuong, Cai Luong, circus and puppetry.
Many plays are experimental, exploiting new and creative ways of expression, helping Vietnamese artists learn unique techniques and performance styles from international artists.
In particular, in Ninh Binh, for the first time the festival organized a street parade, opening up a space for exchange between artists and audiences, while introducing the culture, people, and typical landscapes of the locality.
This festival is not only a creative playground for artists but also an opportunity for audiences to experience highly experimental works, while connecting Vietnamese art with international friends.
Carefully selected international plays offer different forms of performance, creating a colorful picture of modern and experimental theatre.
The 6th International Experimental Theatre Festival also contributes to promoting the cultural and historical values of the host localities, in which Ninh Binh stands out with its rich history and famous landscapes.
