Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong shared the current difficulties of the electricity industry, and highly appreciated the electricity industry's efforts to ensure energy security for the country in general and to accompany and support to ensure power supply, serving the socio -economic development of Da Nang city in particular.
Currently and in the coming time, Da Nang city's demand for electricity consumption is increasing because the economy is oriented to develop strongly, especially in high technology, information technology, semiconductor industry...
Although the investment in power projects in the city has been "one step ahead", in response to development requirements in the 2025-2030 period, EVN needs to pay more attention to investing in projects to develop power sources and grids for the city, especially the list of investment projects until 2030 with a total capital of 17,000 billion VND.
“The city requests EVN to balance investment capital for power projects for Da Nang; at the same time, it will coordinate and participate synchronously to implement the projects, disburse investment capital, put them into operation soon, and ensure energy security for the city. The city People's Committee will urge departments, branches, sectors, units, and localities to coordinate with units of the electricity sector to remove difficulties and obstacles to implement urgent power projects in the 2024-2025 and 2026-2030 periods for which the electricity sector has been balancing capital,” Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong mentioned.
Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Construction, Department of Natural Resources and Environment are assigned to coordinate with EVN, Central Power Corporation, Da Nang Power Company Limited in implementing the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, especially determining land funds, routes... to build power projects, to ensure power supply for the city.
Along with that, the city will also direct localities to focus on clearing land for construction of power projects. The city is resolutely implementing the Prime Minister 's directive on safe, economical and efficient use of electricity.
“In the current situation, with development requirements, high electricity consumption demand, specific factors and climate change have a great impact on ensuring electricity supply. EVN needs to report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to propose to the National Assembly and the Government to have specific resolutions and mechanisms to implement, ensure energy and water security, especially to invest in urgent power source and grid projects in a convenient manner, meeting the demand for electricity use,” Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong suggested.

EVN Deputy General Director Nguyen Tai Anh said that Da Nang is currently receiving a safe electricity supply. However, given the difficulties in supplying electricity to the whole country, EVN needs the cooperation of localities, especially in saving electricity, which still has a lot of room.
Investment in the construction of power projects in the city needs to be focused on in the coming time, especially site clearance for construction, early commissioning of projects, ensuring electricity supply, reducing the average power outage time index of each customer.
The city's departments, branches and sectors coordinate with electricity sector units in planning the implementation of the master plan; support the acceleration of procedures for approving investment policies or selecting investors for electricity projects...
