According to Downdetector, the number of error reports spiked after 9 p.m. on February 26 (Eastern Time in the US and Canada, 9 a.m. Vietnam time) and gradually decreased after 30 minutes. About an hour later, Facebook was back to normal on computers.

In New Zealand, the problem started at around 2:30 p.m. on February 27 (local time) and quickly spread to many areas around the world . In Auckland alone, there were nearly 300 reports of Facebook inaccessibility. Some users turned to the X platform (formerly Twitter) to confirm and seek information about the problem.
Not only Facebook, other Meta services like Instagram and Messenger were also affected. According to reports, Instagram users had difficulty sending messages, while other features of the app were still working normally.
Meta has not made any official comment on the cause of the incident in the US and other countries.
