MU fans call on Ten Hag to rescue Antony

After the match, many "Red Devils" fans took to social media to send messages to Ten Hag, emphasizing that he needed to add some former students from MU like Antony.

Dan Coombs, editor of the United in Focus forum, humorously shared: "This is the time for Ten Hag to accept the truth and offer £80m for Antony."

One fan stated: “Ten Hag needs to buy a goalkeeper and a striker. The board needs to bring him players he has worked with. I would suggest Antony and Andre Onana to Ten Hag."

Another fan said: “I know exactly what Ten Hag can do to turn things around. Sign Antony for £90m."

Ten Hag coached Antony at Ajax and Manchester United. However, their time together at Old Trafford was not as expected. Antony was a huge disappointment, while Ten Hag was sacked in October 2024 due to poor results.

In an interview with Bild on July 18, Ten Hag highly appreciated Antony but admitted that he would not recruit the Brazilian player: "He has great qualities. I signed Antony twice. He is like a son to me, and he still is. At the moment, we are not interested in recruiting Antony, but we will consider the situation in the future."
