Coach Diego Giustozzi continues to put his faith in his experienced core players, while giving opportunities to young faces in the list of players selected to join the Vietnam futsal team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
In this list, the pillars who have affirmed their abilities in the international arena such as goalkeeper Pham Van Tu, central defenders Pham Duc Hoa, Nguyen Manh Dung, Nhan Gia Hung, midfielders Chau Doan Phat, Tu Minh Quang and strikers Nguyen Thinh Phat, Nguyen Da Hai continue to be present, creating a stable framework for the team.
The team also welcomes the return of two veteran midfielders Tran Thai Huy and Ngo Ngoc Son, who contributed greatly to the historic achievement of bringing Vietnamese futsal to the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup for the first time. The appearance of the veterans not only strengthens the depth of the team but also serves as a source of encouragement, inspiration and experience for the younger players.

In addition, Coach Giustozzi gave a chance to rookie Nguyen Tien Hung, a promising young midfielder who grew up from Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, who was recently voted the Best Player of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City U20 Futsal Open Tournament. Tien Hung is expected to bring a new breeze and increase the competitiveness of the team.
According to plan, the Vietnamese futsal team will gather to practice in Ho Chi Minh City from November 10 to December 10, 2025 before going to Thailand to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
The men's futsal event at the 33rd SEA Games will feature five teams: Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar. The teams will compete in a round robin to determine the final ranking.
With an even squad, determination and careful preparation, Vietnam futsal aims to be in the top two teams.
