Hang Be Market (Hoan Kiem District) is famous for its fresh and delicious food, but its high prices have earned it the nickname "rich people's market" in Hanoi . According to Thanh Nien newspaper's observations at 6 am this morning, February 9th, despite the cold and rainy weather, a large number of people were present to choose offerings such as fruits, red carp , votive paper, and chickens with wings like fairies...

Notably, around the Tet Ong Cong Ong Tao (23rd day of the 12th lunar month), the most popular item purchased is "chicken wings adorned with roses" (boiled chicken with rose petals).
Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper , the owner of Hoang Dung store (Gia Ngu Street, Hoan Kiem Ward) said that in the last days of the twelfth lunar month, especially during the Tet Ong Cong Ong Tao (Kitchen God) festival, the store sells thousands of chickens and always has to "run at full capacity" to serve customers.
Chickens for offerings, each holding a rose in its beak, come in various sizes, with prices ranging from 500,000 to 600,000 VND, while larger ones cost from 700,000 VND to over a million VND. Additionally, the restaurant also sells a nine-dish offering set for around 1.5 million VND.
The busiest time is around 6-7 a.m., and the staff have to work at full capacity.

According to the shop owner, the closer it gets to the Kitchen God Festival, the earlier people arrive to buy chickens, fearing that if they arrive late, the stock will run out. To serve their "customers," 30 employees have to wake up at 1 AM, each with their own task such as plucking chickens, boiling chickens, decorating chickens, etc.
"The price of chicken this year hasn't changed much compared to last year, but the number of customers buying chicken has increased by about 15% during the Ông Công Ông Táo festival. I noticed that the busiest day was February 8th (Sunday) when the shop had to work all day to sell chicken to customers," said Hoàng Dung, the shop owner, adding that the shop now offers home delivery for online orders, which helps maintain a stable customer base.
The chicken plucking process alone requires about 6-7 employees.

A young delivery man revealed to us that during the Ông Công, Ông Táo (Kitchen God) festival, he delivers about 20-30 orders a day, with each order serving 2-3 customers, covering a distance of about 150 km in a single day.
"Our shop has dozens of delivery drivers, and I was hired by the owner on a daily basis, earning about 1 million VND per day. If I deliver more orders, the owner will give me an extra bonus," said the young delivery driver.
