Changes include reduced levels of violence, removal of sexual elements, and limited visual effects, applicable to both PC and console versions.

Longtime players argue that “softening” the content would ruin the dark and realistic identity that is the game's strong point.

After just a few days, the game's rating on Steam dropped to "Mixed" with thousands of reviews criticizing this censorship decision.

Some gamers even called for a boycott of Ready or Not to pressure developer VOID Interactive to retract the changes.

Actual player numbers, however, have remained steady, with over 13,000 concurrent players on Sunday night — surpassing last month.
