Nearly 1,000 artists and actors participate in the National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival - 2025

The National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival - 2025 brings together nearly 1,000 artists and actors from 10 art units nationwide with 14 plays.

On the afternoon of November 14, the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) announced that the National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival - 2025 will take place at Kim Ma Theater, Vietnam National Traditional Theater, Hanoi from November 17 to 26. This is an event assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Department of Performing Arts to preside over, in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to organize.

The festival is an activity to arouse the love, passion and responsibility to preserve and promote traditional arts of generations of artists and actors, and at the same time discover new creative factors in artistic work. This is not only a forum for exchange, learning and sharing of artistic experiences between professional art units nationwide, but also an opportunity to propose innovative solutions in management, staging, performance and artist training methods, in line with the development requirements in the new period; honoring artists, authors, directors and units with outstanding contributions to the preservation and creation of traditional theatrical forms.

The festival aims to preserve and promote traditional arts of artists and actors.

The festival is open to actors, professional Tuong and folk opera art units, both public and private, across the country. Each unit can register one play with a duration of 90 - 120 minutes, ensuring compliance with legal regulations on performance activities, copyright and ideological content. In case the unit has many art troupes, the number of plays can correspond to the number of troupes.

The plays participating in the festival must have clear ideological themes, not contrary to the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; not insult leaders, national heroes, and celebrities; not violate the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals; promote beauty and humanistic values, be predictive, and have a positive impact on social life; contribute to building a well-rounded Vietnamese person, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, and promote the strength of Vietnamese culture and people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award Excellence Awards to plays and Excellence Awards to performing artists; Gold Medals and Silver Medals to plays and artists; Excellence Awards to creative elements such as: Scriptwriters, Directors, Musicians, and Designers.
