On the evening of June 12, at Le Trung Kien Gymnasium (Tuy Hoa City), the Department of Physical Training and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen Province to open the 30th National Youth Karate Championship 2024, gathering nearly 1,000 athletes and coaches from 43 provinces, cities and sectors.
Mr. Le Hoang Phu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that Karate is a sport classified in Group I, and is being invested in by the Department of Physical Education and Sports for national high-performance sports in the coming years.

The tournament is an opportunity for coaches and athletes to exchange, learn and share experiences in order to select the best athletes for the national team, while promoting and introducing the homeland and people of Phu Yen, contributing to the development of tourism.
According to Mr. Vu Son Ha, Head of Karate Department, Department of Sports and Physical Training, this year's tournament recorded the largest number of participating athletes ever, showing the strong development of Vietnamese Karate in recent times.
Taking place from June 12 to 19, athletes will compete in age groups of 10 - 11, 12 - 13, 14 - 15, 16 - 17 and 18 - 22 years old, with events including Kumite (individual, team) and Kata (individual, team)./.
