The athletes start competing in the race.
This was the first cycling competition in Can Tho city after the administrative boundary consolidation, attracting nearly 200 amateur athletes from 18 cycling clubs inside and outside the city.
According to Truong Cong Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, the event is not only a healthy playground for cycling enthusiasts but also an opportunity for athletes to interact, learn, and strengthen solidarity. The large number of participating athletes this year shows the increasingly widespread and sustainable development of the cycling movement in Can Tho.
The athletes were divided into four age groups with different race distances. Specifically, the men's groups aged 16-40 and 41-50 competed in a 40km race (equivalent to 20 laps); the men's group aged 51 and over competed in a 30km race (equivalent to 15 laps); and the women's group aged 16-55 competed in a 20km race (equivalent to 10 laps).
