Nearly 200 pyrotechnic fireworks were fired during a rehearsal at My Dinh Stadium.

At 8 PM on January 18th, nearly 200 pyrotechnic fireworks were test-fired during the rehearsal of the artistic program celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi).

A five-minute fireworks test was held as part of the rehearsal for the special art program "Under the Glorious Banner of the Party" on the evening of January 18th.

On the day of the official ceremony (scheduled for the evening of January 23rd), for the first time, residents of the capital will be able to enjoy a high-altitude artistic fireworks display on a scale of nearly 10,000 fireworks.

According to the organizers, the 30-minute high-altitude fireworks display was performed by Sun Group in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defence , the Hanoi Capital Command, and Chemical Company 21, along with a team of over 80 fireworks experts and technicians.

This will be the largest artistic fireworks display ever held in the history of fireworks shows in the capital city.

Specifically, the total number of fireworks prepared for this performance amounted to nearly 10,000 units of various types.

The display included 4,600 high-altitude fireworks (almost seven times the scale of other events in Hanoi ), 950 fireworks fountains, and 4,400 pyrotechnic tubes, far exceeding the usual scale at a single location.

The dress rehearsal will take place on the evening of January 21st.

The official event is scheduled to take place at 8 PM, after the closing ceremony of the 14th National Congress of the Party (January 23, 2026).

Previously, Hanoi residents also enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display combining pyrotechnics and high-altitude fireworks during the 2026 New Year's Day celebration, with a launch site at Hoan Kiem Lake featuring 700 high-altitude fireworks, 60 low-altitude fireworks displays, and many other pyrotechnic displays.
