Khun Ha commune has two typical community tourism villages, Tham village and Lao Chai 1 village. Both villages possess the wild and simple beauty of the mountainous region, while at the same time preserving the unique cultural identity of each ethnic group, creating a unique attraction for tourists from near and far.

Ban Tham is located in the middle of a poetic mountain forest space, and is the long-standing residence of the Lu ethnic group - one of the communities that still preserves many unique traditional cultural features.

Lao Chai 1 village has a different character, imbued with the identity of the Mong people in the highlands. Lying against the mountain, overlooking the misty valleys, Lao Chai 1 village impresses with its simple wooden houses and stone roads created by the hard-working, skillful hands of the people. Coming here, visitors can not only admire the majestic natural scenery, but also have the opportunity to experience daily activities such as pounding rice cakes, embroidering traditional dresses, making musical instruments, or participating in festivals imbued with Mong ethnic culture.

Currently, both Khun Ha community tourism villages are gradually promoting tourism potential associated with new rural construction. People actively participate in tourism, expanding homestay accommodation services, preserving traditional architecture and preserving the ecological environment. Thanks to that, Khun Ha has not only become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, but also a testament to the model of sustainable community tourism development, contributing to improving life, preserving identity and enriching the "countryside soul" in the Northwest highlands.

Thanks to the development of community tourism associated with new rural construction, Lao Chai 1 community tourism village (Khun Ha commune) is increasingly attracting many tourists to visit and experience.

Coming to Lao Chai 1 village, visitors cannot help but be amazed by the rustic yet sophisticated beauty of the stone path leading into the village. What is special is that the path was not created by modern machinery, but is the result of months of hard work, when the people here picked up each cobblestone, put it together with their skillful hands and love for their homeland. On both sides of the small path, pots of orchids and colorful flower bushes compete to show off their colors, adding to the lively picture of the village. Without the need for grandiose constructions or artificial landscapes, Lao Chai 1 still attracts with its simple beauty, created by the quiet care and cultivation of the people.

Every weekend, people clean the village roads together, plant flowers and ornamental plants, and keep the space clean and fresh. These small acts have contributed to preserving and beautifying the village.

It is known that Lao Chai 1 village currently has 47 households with more than 250 people, 100% of whom are Mong ethnic people. Previously, the lives of people in the village mainly depended on agriculture , with unstable income and many difficulties in life. In recent years, thanks to the correct policy of building new rural areas associated with community tourism development, Lao Chai 1 has had a strong transformation. People have been propagandized and trained in tourism skills, gradually changing their production mindset from pure agriculture to sustainable service development.

Up to now, in the village, there have been 8 households boldly investing in the homestay model with spacious facilities, diverse types of accommodation from single rooms to dormitories, meeting the needs of relaxation, exploration and cultural experiences of domestic and foreign tourists. The development of community tourism not only brings a stable source of income, improving the lives of people, but also contributes to preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values of the Mong people. Thanks to that, Lao Chai 1 village has gradually affirmed its position as an attractive destination on the tourist map of Lai Chau province. In 2024, Lao Chai 1 village was honored to be recognized as a 3-star OCOP community tourism village, this is a clear demonstration of the change from the spirit of solidarity and aspiration of the people here.

In recent times, in order to build new rural areas associated with sustainable tourism development, Khun Ha commune has focused on promoting propaganda and mobilizing people in 2 community tourism villages to actively maintain environmental hygiene, regularly clean village roads; plant flowers and ornamental plants to create a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape.

Along with that, orienting people to develop homestay model to welcome guests; encouraging the expansion of accompanying services such as: ethnic cuisine, cafes, souvenir shops; displaying typical local agricultural products such as: honey, wild tea... to sell to tourists. These activities not only contribute to increasing income for people, but also create motivation to promote community tourism to develop in a friendly and sustainable direction.

With creative approaches in building new rural areas associated with community tourism development, Khun Ha commune has gradually improved income and environmental criteria, creating sustainable livelihoods for the people. These positive changes not only contribute to hunger eradication and poverty reduction but also open up new directions in local socio-economic development, towards a rich, civilized and richly national-identified countryside.
