At the meeting, delegates watched the documentary “History and tradition of 80 years of the armed forces of Binh Dinh province”; reviewed the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the armed forces of Binh Dinh province; and listened to the letter of commendation from Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan acknowledged and commended the achievements and feats that the armed forces of Binh Dinh province have achieved over the past 80 years.
Comrade Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: In the current situation, imperialism and hostile forces continue to promote the strategy of “peaceful evolution”, “violent overthrow”, promoting “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” within the country, destabilizing the country’s politics , and sabotaging the construction of socialism in our country. National sovereignty disputes in the East Sea are still complicated, difficult, long-term and arduous.
In the province, the political security situation in recent years has been basically stable, and the socio-economic situation has grown positively. However, implementing the policy of streamlining the government apparatus at all levels and implementing a two-level local government from July 1 also poses increasingly higher requirements for the task of protecting the Fatherland and building a strong, modern, and lean army to meet the requirements of the new period.
To successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and People, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the armed forces to regularly do a good job of political and ideological education, raising the sense of responsibility for all cadres, soldiers and people of all walks of life about revolutionary tasks, military tasks, especially Resolution 44 of the Party Central Committee (13th tenure) on "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation"; associated with effectively promoting the implementation of the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
At the same time, promote the combined strength of the entire political system, the strength of national solidarity, create new positions and forces, maintain political stability, for socio-economic development. Effectively combine economy with national defense, national defense with economy, national defense with security and foreign affairs.
The armed forces must truly play the core role in building the all-people national defense, the all-people national defense posture, the all-people border defense posture, building a solid defense zone; consolidating the close-knit relationship with the people; raising the spirit of revolutionary vigilance against the plots and tricks of hostile forces. Actively participate in the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, searching and rescuing, mitigating natural disasters; participating in hunger eradication and poverty reduction programs, continuing to effectively carry out emulation movements throughout the force.
Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership of Party committees at all levels, improve the overall quality of the reserve mobilization force, militia and self-defense force; coordinate with forces to maintain political security and social order and safety right from the grassroots. Strengthen national defense education for all people, foster national defense and security knowledge for all subjects, making cadres and people fully aware of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
