Bao Yen General Hospital project has a scale of 250 beds.

In less than 2 months, the Bao Yen Regional General Hospital project will be handed over to the user. The construction atmosphere at the site is urgent, dozens of workers are working hard to complete the items, vehicles are continuously transporting equipment and installation materials. The investor and contractor are determined to hand over on schedule.

The Bao Yen General Hospital project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in December 2021. After adjustment, the project has a total investment of 258 billion VND, using the central budget for the period 2021 - 2025 and the centralized budget for the same period.

The project includes the following items: administrative building (3 floors); block building (3 - 5 floors); anti-infection building; infectious disease department building; mortuary, with a scale of 250 beds and other auxiliary items.

Bao Yen General Hospital Project is implemented with the aim of solving the overload situation of current hospital facilities, while meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people. This is one of the key projects of the locality, contributing to improving the quality of medical services for the people.

The contractor is currently urgently completing the block house, administrative building, nutrition house, infectious disease house, anti-infection house, morgue house, toilet house, wastewater treatment tank, fire pump house. The ground leveling, electricity supply, water supply... items are also being constructed synchronously.

In order to ensure the project is on schedule, the investor requires contractors to mobilize maximum human resources and vehicles, take advantage of favorable weather to organize overtime work and increase shifts to speed up construction.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Director of Quang Sang Construction Investment Company Limited said that the construction items undertaken by the unit have been basically completed, ensuring that they will be handed over to the investor by December 15.

Project supervisors also closely monitor the construction site to ensure construction items meet progress and quality.

Mr. Ly Van Huynh - Lao Cai Province Construction Quality Assessment Center said: We regularly coordinate with investors and contractors to promptly resolve difficulties to ensure project progress.

According to the Bao Yen Area Construction Investment Project Management Board, one of the current difficulties and problems is the lack of capital allocated for the project.

Specifically: The project's capital structure includes the central budget of 150 billion VND, the provincial budget of 58 billion VND, the district budget of 50 billion VND, of which the allocated capital is 182,129 billion VND, equivalent to 70.6% of the total project investment (including 150 billion VND from the central budget and 32,129 billion VND from the district budget).

Up to now, provincial budget capital has not been allocated for the project.

Currently, the Bao Yen Area Construction Investment Project Management Board has requested the Department of Finance to consider reporting to the Provincial People's Committee to arrange additional provincial budget capital to pay for completed volume to contractors.

For packages 7A, 7B, 08 (contracts expired from September 30, 2025), the Project Management Board continues to urge contractors to speed up progress, gather materials and equipment at the construction site (coordinate construction in parallel with the adjusted and supplemented package). At the same time, it is requested that the Department of Finance consider reporting to the Provincial People's Committee to allow extension of the contract implementation period for these packages until December 31, 2025 for completion of construction.

These days, the Board of Directors of Bao Yen Regional General Hospital is also regularly present at the new hospital to coordinate with the investor and contractor to adjust some items to suit the actual function, in order to optimize operational efficiency when the project comes into operation.

Bao Yen Regional General Hospital has deteriorated after many years of operation.

Dr. Pham Hong Viet said: Up to now, we have completed signing equipment supply contracts with contractors. Currently, some medical equipment has been transported to the construction site, ready for installation. Some electronic equipment is being stored and preserved according to technical procedures so that a team of experts can install it right after we receive it.

The hospital also sent its staff and doctors to study and improve their skills to meet the requirements of operating the new hospital, in which priority areas were identified such as: emergency resuscitation, artificial kidney, diagnostic imaging... All staff and doctors of the hospital are eager to work at the new facility soon.

With modern facilities and a team of well-trained doctors and nurses, the new Bao Yen Regional General Hospital is expected to help reduce the workload of the old facility, improve service quality, and bring satisfaction to the people. The project also affirms Lao Cai province's interest in taking care of people's health.
