Urgently complete the 3rd line shutdown diagram after the 220kV substation in Nghi Son Economic Zone

Recently, Thanh Hoa Electricity Company and related parties have had a working program on the content of completing the 3rd line connection diagram after the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone Transformer Station (TSS) according to the National grid planning, related to the plan to transfer the connection of 110kV TSS: Ferocrom, Nghi Son Cement, Long Son grinding station to the 3rd line connection system of the project.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the leaders of the units: Thanh Hoa Electricity Company, Power Grid Project Management Board (BA1), Northern Power Construction Project Management Board (BA3), LIONAS METALS Company Limited, Nghi Son Cement Company, Long Son Cement Company.

Overview of the working session.

Representatives of the Project Management Boards said: Up to now, the main construction volume of the 3rd output line of the 110kV output line project after the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone Substation has been basically completed. Currently, the parties are urgently completing the documents and technical procedures to transfer the connection of the 3 110kV Ferocrom, Nghi Son Cement, and Long Son grinding stations to the 220kV Nghi Son Economic Zone Substation.

To ensure the synchronization of the system, BA1 requested Ferocrom and Nghi Son Cement to invest in and install a complete system of protective relays, signal transmission channels, protective coordination equipment and control linkage, in compliance with technical requirements as prescribed. At the same time, it is necessary to arrange a reasonable production plan to facilitate power outages, connections and power supply transfers for 3 110 kV substations of customers to the source from the 220 kV substation of Nghi Son Economic Zone, expected to be implemented between November 25 and 30, 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Duc Hau - Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Electricity Company said: To ensure continuous and stable power supply for 3 companies, after the project is completed, power will be supplied from 2 sources, reducing the power supply radius and ensuring the best power quality. The connection of 3 substations to the 220kV substation of Nghi Son Economic Zone according to the National Power Planning is a very important technical item, requiring close and continuous coordination, quick participation between units as well as BA1 and Thanh Hoa Electricity Company to ensure safety, synchronization and readiness to operate the system in December 2025.

Representatives of the Companies acknowledged and agreed to implement the technical requirements according to regulations, and at the same time requested the Power Grid Project Management Board (BA1) and Thanh Hoa Power Company to support and accompany in technical work, acceptance and join forces to work with the Northern Power System Control Center to complete the work contents soon.

At the meeting, the parties reached an agreement: The companies will urgently complete the technical work, select equipment types and coordinate with BA1 and BA3 in the work of synchronous system inspection; Thanh Hoa Electricity Company and the Power Grid Project Management Board will coordinate to monitor, provide technical support, and ensure the progress of connection transfer within the agreed time frame. All work of power cut, connection, relay adjustment, interlock inspection and trial operation will be carried out in accordance with the dispatching process and technical standards of the electricity industry.

Completing the 3rd line closing diagram after the 220kV substation of Nghi Son Economic Zone not only contributes to ensuring safe, stable and reliable power supply for key industrial customers of Nghi Son Economic Zone, but also improves transmission capacity and optimizes grid operation in the South Thanh Hoa region, in line with the orientation of synchronous energy infrastructure development associated with the planning of Nghi Son Economic Zone.
