Steven Gerrard built a business empire after hanging up his boots. |
The Liverpool legend set up Steven Gerrard Promotions while he was still playing to manage his off-field earnings, including sponsorship deals. New figures show Gerrard continues to rake in the cash, more than eight years after retiring from playing.
Financial statements at Companies House show that Gerrard's company now owns assets of up to nearly £10 million. In addition, the company recorded profits of £1.5 million in the last financial year.
In particular, the value of Gerrard's company increased by £800,000 in just one year. This is an impressive growth, proving that Gerrard continues to reap success in managing off-field income sources, including sponsorship deals and other business activities.
Gerrard is the company’s secretary and co-director with his brother Paul. As well as running his own company, Gerrard also runs fashion brand SSG Apparel and promotes a range of products on social media, from clothes to scented candles. Financial records also reveal that Gerrard has donated more than £40,000 to charities over the past three years through his foundation.
After retiring, Gerrard took charge of Rangers from June 2018, helping the team win their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade in 2021, before joining Aston Villa. However, he was sacked by Aston Villa in October 2022 due to a series of poor results.
After a brief spell in Saudi Arabia, Gerrard was linked with a return to Scotland earlier this year, but Rangers eventually chose Russell Martin as their new manager.
