*According to Reuters , citing market analysts, pork prices on October 2 on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) increased and beef futures prices also increased.
The price of pork futures for December 2024 delivery on the CME exchange increased by 2.15 cents to 76.750 cents/Lb, while the price of pork futures for October 2024 delivery increased by 1.175 cents to 84.675 cents/Lb.

Increased technical buying activity provided additional support for cattle futures on Oct. 2, 2024, said Karl Setzer, partner at Consus Ag Consulting. Spot cattle prices remained steady at high levels, despite relatively slow trading, analysts said.
“With the strength of the US dollar, traders are thinking that consumer spending could improve, which also helps to boost red meat prices,” said Mr Setzer.
