Mixed developments in the coffee market
Coffee prices on December 5th recorded a clear differentiation between the domestic and international markets. While domestic coffee prices continued to plummet due to supply pressure from the new harvest, the two world futures exchanges simultaneously recovered, especially the strong increase in Arabica prices.

Domestic coffee prices continue to fall sharply
In the Central Highlands provinces, coffee purchasing prices today dropped sharply from 1,700 to 1,900 VND/kg compared to the previous session, pushing the price level down to fluctuate between 102,800 and 104,500 VND/kg. The main reason is believed to be that the harvest is at its peak, increasing pressure on Robusta supply to the market.
| Local | Purchase price (VND/kg) | Change rate (VND/kg) |
|---|---|---|
| Lam Dong | 102,800 | -1,700 |
| Dak Lak | 103,600 | -1,900 |
| Gia Lai | 103,800 | -1,700 |
| Kon Tum | 103,800 | -1,700 |
| Dak Nong | 104,500 | -1,700 |
Dak Lak is the locality that recorded the sharpest decrease in the country. The lowest price in the whole region was recorded in Lam Dong.
World markets recover
In contrast to the domestic trend, coffee prices on the two major futures exchanges have rebounded. Investors are concerned about the possibility of a medium- and long-term supply shortage due to unusual weather in Brazil, falling inventories and the risk of transport disruptions.
- On the London floor , the Robusta contract for January 2026 delivery increased by 27 USD to 4,342 USD/ton . The contract for September 2026 delivery also increased by 32 USD to 4,078 USD/ton.
- On the New York floor , Arabica prices increased sharply. The contract for delivery in December 2025 increased by 6.25 cents/lb, closing at 410.0 cents/lb . The contract for delivery in September 2026 increased by 5.6 cents/lb, to 336.35 cents/lb.
Positive signals from export activities
According to data from VNA, Vietnam's coffee export activities still recorded impressive growth. In the first 11 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 1.4 million tons of coffee, earning 7.88 billion USD , up 14.1% in volume and 59.7% in value over the same period last year.
The average export price reached 5,667.6 USD/ton, up 39.9%. Germany, Italy and Spain are the three largest import markets. Notably, the export structure is shifting positively towards processed coffee products, helping to increase added value and consolidate Vietnam's position on the world coffee map.
