Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of May 3, 2025 |
In recent times, coffee prices have fluctuated with very large amplitudes, making it impossible to predict prices and trends.
In the domestic market, coffee prices on May 3 fluctuated from 126,600 to 127,200 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of about 4,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. The main reason was the weakening of coffee prices on the London exchange, where Robusta coffee prices fell by 4.53% in the most recent trading session.
According to experts, in the short term, coffee prices may continue to be under downward pressure due to the following factors: Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, is entering a new harvest with an expected increase in output, increasing global supply. Arabica and Robusta coffee inventories are high, especially at major export ports, indicating that supply has not really tightened. Investors are cautious about global economic fluctuations, especially in the context of trade tensions and exchange rate fluctuations.
However, domestic coffee prices may remain stable or increase slightly in the coming time, thanks to stable domestic consumption and export demand, along with the domestic coffee harvest being nearly completed.
Heat waves and drought have caused coffee production in Brazil and Vietnam, the world’s two largest coffee producers, to decline sharply. Global production is still expected to increase, but not as much as commodity investors had hoped. This has pushed up coffee prices, largely due to continued high consumer demand in Europe, the United States and China.
Global green coffee exports fell 14.2% in February compared to the same month last year, according to the International Coffee Organization. The shortage has pushed raw coffee prices to a record high in February, surpassing the previous record set in 1977 when severe frost damaged 70% of Brazil’s coffee crop.
