Meanwhile, although Vietnam – the world’s largest robusta producer – is experiencing a slow harvest due to storms and floods, the crop is not considered to have suffered significant damage.

The USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has revised its forecast for Vietnam’s coffee production in the 2025/26 crop year down to 30.8 million bags, down from the 31 million bags forecast in June but still up 6.2% from the previous year. Robusta production is forecast to reach 29.6 million bags, up 5.7%, while Arabica is forecast to increase slightly to 1.2 million bags. The report shows that high coffee prices and favorable weather are encouraging farmers to increase investment, which could boost yields by as much as 10% in the new crop year.
In the market, Arabica prices continued to be under pressure due to the weakening of the Brazilian Real, which led to strong selling by farmers. In a phone call with US President Donald Trump, Brazilian President Lula welcomed the US reduction of some tariffs on food products, hoping that instant coffee would soon enjoy tax incentives to support exports.
However, coffee prices were supported somewhat by a 25.6% drop in Brazilian exports in November and low arabica and robusta inventories on ICE, although there were signs of recovery over the weekend.
