* The live pig market in the North recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, Bac Giang province adjusted the price of live pigs down to 58,000 VND/kg, equal to Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang.
Traders in the remaining provinces and cities maintain purchasing prices at 57,000 VND/kg.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 57,000-58,000 VND/kg.
* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions have not changed much.
Of which, 55,000 VND/kg is the lowest live pig price recorded in Dak Lak province.
Live pigs in most of the remaining provinces are being traded around the average mark of 57,000 VND/kg. Binh Thuan province alone adjusted the purchase price down to 56,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 55,000-57,000 VND/kg.
* In the Southern region, the price of live pigs also decreased by 1,000 VND/kg in some places.
Accordingly, the price of live pigs in Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong and Vung Tau is 56,000 VND/kg, a slight decrease compared to yesterday. The remaining provinces and cities have no new price changes.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 56,000-58,000 VND/kg.
In general, the price of live pigs today decreased by 1,000 VND/kg. Currently, the surveyed price in the provinces fluctuates between 55,000-58,000 VND/kg.
* According to the Department of Animal Husbandry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), in the first 6 months of 2023, the prices of most animal feed ingredients tended to decrease compared to the general level in 2022.
However, soybean meal prices remain high compared to 2022 (up 1.7%). As finished feed prices have only started to decline since March 2023, feed prices in the first 6 months of 2023 are still 1.1-2.1% higher than in 2022.
In general, although the price of animal feed ingredients has begun to decrease in recent months, it is still very high (from 41.5-55.7%) compared to the period before the Covid-19 pandemic (2020). Therefore, the price of finished animal feed in the first 6 months of 2023 is still 37.1-43.0% higher than the price of animal feed in the period before the pandemic (2020).
