Pig price today July 10, 2025: Quang Ninh and Son La slightly decreased by 1,000 VND/kg
The live pig market in the Northern region today recorded slight fluctuations when Quang Ninh and Son La simultaneously reduced the price by 1,000 VND/kg, from 68,000 VND to 67,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, the remaining localities such as Hanoi , Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang remained stable, trading in the range of 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.
Central Highlands: Prices remain stable, Gia Lai is the lowest in the country
In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs remained stable compared to yesterday. Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces remained at 66,000 VND/kg. Da Nang and Quang Ngai fluctuated slightly from 65,000 to 66,000 VND/kg, while Gia Lai continued to record the lowest price in the country at 64,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Lam Dong had the highest price in the region, reaching 67,000 VND/kg.
South: No change, Dong Nai and Ca Mau remain high
In the South, the price of live pigs generally remained stable at around 66,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Can Tho and An Giang maintained the level of 67,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai and Ca Mau continued to hold the regional peak at 68,000 VND/kg, while Vinh Long was the locality with the lowest price, only 66,000 VND/kg.
The live hog market on July 10, 2025 continued to maintain a stable trend. The common price nationwide currently fluctuates from 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg, reflecting a balanced supply-demand situation and no major adjustment pressure in the short term.
Pig production in Long An in the first half of the year decreased slightly
According to a report from the Long An Statistical Office (before the merger), by the end of June, the total number of buffaloes in the province was 4,750, down 8.03% over the same period last year. The herd of cows reached 105,600, down 3.84%, of which there were 14,400 dairy cows, down 4.88%. The herd of goats increased slightly to 9,600, up 0.81%; while the herd of pigs reached 88,000, up 1.3%. The poultry herd had 11.47 million, up 11.48%, with the number of chickens reaching 9.35 million, up 16.03%.
In the first 6 months of the year, the output of live buffalo meat for slaughter was estimated at 109 tons, down 49.69% compared to the previous year; while the output of cows was estimated at 2,450 tons, up 4.71%; goats at 55 tons, up 8.73%; pigs at 11,200 tons, down 0.09%; poultry at 27,488 tons, down 0.49%, of which chickens were estimated at 22,565 tons, up 0.28%. Poultry egg output was estimated at 532.46 million, up 53.48%, with chicken eggs estimated at 469 million, up 51.96%. Fresh cow's milk output was estimated at 19,500 tons, up 6.84%.
Long An Statistics Office said that in the first half of the year, the disease situation in livestock herds in the province (before the merger) did not have serious developments, only a few small outbreaks appeared and were promptly handled to prevent the spread.
Specifically, African swine fever occurred in 22 households in 15 communes in 8 districts: Tan Hung, Vinh Hung, Moc Hoa, Tan Thanh, Thanh Hoa, Ben Luc, Tan Tru, Chau Thanh, with a total of 717 pigs destroyed, total weight 33,872.2 kg.
In addition, avian influenza was recorded in a household in Chau Thanh district, with a total of 2,200 poultry culled. There was one case of rabies in a dog in Moc Hoa district, with one dog culled. No other diseases were recorded.
