Nghe An strengthens epidemic prevention, maintains livestock industry development momentum
Nghe An is one of the localities with the largest livestock farming scale in the country. Despite facing rising material prices, unfavorable weather and complicated epidemics, the province's livestock industry still maintains growth, reaching 5.39% in 2024.
However, challenges remain as small-scale farming continues to be the cause of disease outbreaks. Many dangerous diseases such as African swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease, and avian influenza continue to develop complicatedly, putting great pressure on disease control work.
Faced with this situation, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Nghe An province has advised the Provincial People's Committee to synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and control the epidemic. The province has issued a plan to prevent the epidemic in 2025, along with three urgent dispatches and a directive to tighten management.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts, dangerous epidemics have been basically controlled. However, African swine fever is still complicated in some localities, requiring closer monitoring.
