The price of live pigs on the morning of August 6 recorded mixed fluctuations between the three regions. The North decreased across many provinces, the Central Highlands and Central regions remained stable or decreased slightly, while the South recorded an upward trend. The price of live pigs is currently traded in the range of 57,000 - 65,000 VND/kg, with Tay Ninh continuing to lead the country.
Pig price in the North
The live hog market in the North on the morning of August 6 witnessed a downward trend in many provinces and cities. Specifically, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg was recorded in Hanoi , Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen, bringing the price in these localities to 64,000 VND/kg. Phu Tho is currently trading at 63,000 VND/kg after a similar downward adjustment.
With this development, the mark of 65,000 VND/kg has disappeared from the market in the Northern region. The price of live pigs is currently fluctuating between 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg, with localities such as Cao Bang , Lang Son, Lai Chau and Son La maintaining the lowest level in the region at 62,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, some places such as Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Ninh Binh still keep the price stable around 63,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price of live pigs continued to decrease slightly this morning with an adjustment of 1,000 VND/kg in Nghe An, bringing the price to 62,000 VND/kg, equal to Thanh Hoa. Provinces such as Ha Tinh, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa are currently trading around 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong maintains the highest price in the region at 63,000 VND/kg.
Notably, Gia Lai continues to be the locality with the lowest live hog price in the country, at only VND57,000/kg. Coastal localities such as Hue, Quang Tri, Da Nang and Quang Ngai maintain an average price of VND58,000/kg, reflecting that the consumption situation has not shown any clear signs of improvement in this area.
Pig price in the South
In contrast to the downward trend in the other two regions, the southern pig market this morning recorded positive developments when some localities adjusted prices slightly upward. Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap and Ca Mau all increased by VND1,000/kg, to VND64,000/kg. Notably, Tay Ninh rose to the top position in the country when reaching VND65,000/kg after corresponding increases.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the South fluctuates between 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Dong Nai, Vinh Long and Can Tho maintain stable prices from 63,000 - 64,000 VND/kg, reflecting that supply and purchasing power in the South are showing more positive signs than the other two regions.
