Northern pig price

On the morning of November 12, the Northern market witnessed a further decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in live hog prices, marking the third consecutive decrease this week. The current purchase price is commonly between 48,000 - 49,000 VND/kg.

In Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong, Dien Bien, Phu Tho, Son La, Hung Yen and Quang Ninh provinces, the price was recorded at 49,000 VND/kg - Quang Ninh was the only locality that did not record any change compared to the previous day. Meanwhile, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Ninh Binh and Thai Nguyen provinces decreased to 48,000 VND/kg, the lowest price in the Northern region since the beginning of November.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central Highlands region continued to record a decrease of 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg this morning in most provinces, bringing the common purchase price down to 47,000 - 49,000 VND/kg.

Localities including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue and Quang Ngai have dropped to 47,000 VND/kg - this is also the lowest level in the country. Da Nang alone maintains the level of 48,000 VND/kg, while Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Dak Lak fluctuate around 49,000 VND/kg.

Southern pig price

The Southern market on the morning of November 12 was relatively stable, with only Dong Thap decreasing by 1,000 VND/kg to 49,000 VND/kg. In other provinces, prices ranged from 48,000 - 51,000 VND/kg. Ca Mau continued to hold the highest position in the country with 51,000 VND/kg, followed by Dong Nai, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City all at 50,000 VND/kg. On the contrary, Vinh Long is currently the locality with the lowest price in the region with 48,000 VND/kg.

Analysts say that supply from large farms in Dong Nai and Long An remains abundant, while domestic demand has not increased sharply, making it unlikely that live hog prices will increase in the short term. However, experts predict that when processing enterprises start purchasing at the end of November, prices may increase slightly again.

Currently, the price of live pigs nationwide fluctuates between 47,000 and 51,000 VND/kg, the lowest since the beginning of the fourth quarter. According to experts, the market is likely to stabilize as demand increases sharply near the Lunar New Year.

If supply and demand are balanced and the epidemic is well controlled, the price of live pigs could recover to 53,000 - 55,000 VND/kg by the end of December, helping farmers reduce cost pressure.
