* In the first months of 2023, the livestock industry faced many difficulties due to high input costs and low livestock product prices. However, from the second quarter of 2023 onwards, the livestock industry began to recover, with livestock product prices recovering from below production costs to a level where farmers could make a profit.

It is forecasted that in the last months of the year, the livestock industry will continue to achieve good growth thanks to the increasingly prosperous consumer market.

Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) assessed that for a long time, the prices of livestock and poultry have decreased. However, since April, the picture of the livestock industry has changed more positively, with livestock prices increasing again despite the complicated developments of the world economy. This has contributed to the livestock industry achieving its goals for the whole year.

Currently, the price of live pigs is around 60,000 VND/kg, which is much higher than in previous months. With this price, farmers have made a profit.

In addition to information about increased livestock product prices, livestock farming activities are also more favorable when a series of domestic animal feed production companies have reduced animal feed prices many times.
