Gia Lai: Approval granted for investment in the Binh Dinh - Krong Buk 500 kV power line project.

(GLO) - On January 20th, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 273/QD-UBND approving the investment policy and simultaneously approving the investor for the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to implement the Binh Dinh - Krong Buk 500 kV transmission line project. The project has a total investment capital of over 8,200 billion VND.

The scope of the Binh Dinh - Krong Buk 500 kV transmission line project includes: construction of a 500 kV double-circuit transmission line from the Binh Dinh 500 kV substation to the Krong Buk 500 kV substation, with a length of approximately 187.65 km; indoor installation of communication cabinets; and purchase and installation of two series capacitor banks within the Binh Dinh 500 kV substation premises (in the outgoing bay to the Krong Buk 500 kV substation).

The project contributes to strengthening transmission capacity for the South Central - Central Highlands regional link, combined with expanding transmission interfaces between the North Central - Northern region and the Central Highlands - Southern region, in order to enhance the exploitation of renewable energy sources in the Central region to supply load centers in the Northern and Southern regions.

Simultaneously, the Binh Dinh 500 kV substation was connected to receive and transmit power from solar, wind, and hydroelectric power plants in the Phu Yen and Binh Dinh provinces (now Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces) and surrounding areas to the national power grid.

In addition, it will be combined with the Dung Quat - Binh Dinh 500 kV combined-cycle gas turbine transmission line and other 500 kV lines in the region to transmit the power from the Central region's gas-fired power plant using the Ca Voi Xanh gas field when this complex comes into operation.

Creating strong connections for the regional transmission grid enhances the safe, stable, and reliable operation of the national power grid; reduces power and energy losses in the system, and improves overall business efficiency.

The People's Committee of Gia Lai province assigns the Departments of Finance, Industry and Trade, Construction, Agriculture and Environment, along with other relevant agencies and units, to be responsible for guiding investors in carrying out subsequent procedures; monitoring, inspecting, supervising, and urging investors to comply with regulations; and performing state management and investment supervision and evaluation of the project in accordance with the law on investment and specialized laws.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has instructed the investor to coordinate effectively with local authorities in compensation and land clearance during the project implementation process, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
