Gia Lai opens classes to teach brocade weaving and gong tuning

(GLO)- On the morning of November 24, at Dien Hong ward, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai opened two classes teaching brocade weaving and gong tuning for 21 students in the province.

This is an activity under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas by 2025.

Specifically, from November 24 to 28, Meritorious Artisan Dinh Thi Lam (To Tung commune) was invited to take charge of the Bahnar brocade weaving class; Meritorious Artisan Dinh Doch (Al Ba commune) taught Bahnar gong tuning techniques.

Previously, from November 17 to 21, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai also organized 4 training classes on Bahnar gong tuning, Jrai gong tuning, brocade weaving and Bahnar wooden statue carving. The four artisans teaching the classes were: Nay Phai (Phu Tuc commune), Dinh Thi Hrin (Kong Chro commune), Dinh Ue (Kong Chro commune), Dinh Dung (To Tung commune).
