With the advantage of fertile red basalt soil and favorable location, Gia Lai province is gradually asserting itself as a "golden destination" for investors in the agricultural sector. Standardized raw material areas, closed production, processing and consumption chains, and green production thinking open up opportunities for the province's agricultural products to reach the global market.
Advantages for agricultural products to break through
Gia Lai province has nearly 977,000 hectares of agricultural land, of which 770,000 hectares are cultivated annually, among the localities with the largest production scale in the country. The large, contiguous, relatively flat land fund creates favorable conditions for the formation of concentrated specialized cultivation areas, attracting businesses to build a sustainable production, processing and consumption chain.

Gia Lai province owns more than 100 hectares of land suitable for industrial crops, fruit trees and high-value medicinal herbs.
Notably, Gia Lai province owns more than 753,000 hectares of red-yellow soil, mainly basalt red soil, loose, well-drained, suitable for industrial crops, fruit trees and high-value medicinal herbs. This is the foundation for the province to develop coffee, pepper, rubber, durian, banana, passion fruit... as well as other specialty products.
Regarding the Singapore market , the total two-way import-export turnover between Gia Lai and Singapore in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated at 19.1 million USD. Of which, exports reached 8.5 million USD, up 20.4%; imports 10.6 million USD, down 30.9%.
Main export items include wood and wood products, seafood, rice, cashew nuts, plastic products, etc. Meanwhile, the province imports from Singapore raw materials for export production, such as animal feed, raw plastics, wood, pharmaceutical raw materials, textile raw materials, machinery, equipment and spare parts.

In recent working sessions, Singaporean businesses expressed their desire to explore investment opportunities, cooperation in production and trading of products in which the province has advantages.
Mr. Leo Gao Minghui, Chairman of Protus Group shared: "Our business operates in import, export, finance, market connection and legal support in China. Protus Group's strength is exporting agricultural products, such as coffee, durian, seafood... These are also Gia Lai's key products, so we want to support local businesses to connect to the Chinese market."
Protus Group plans to invest about 3 million USD to build an agricultural product testing center with modern equipment, to ensure Gia Lai's agricultural products are exported safely and to limit the risk of returned goods.
Meanwhile, the International Trading Company (Singapore), which specializes in processing and exporting black soybean products, is planning to expand its raw material area in Gia Lai.
Ms. Huynh My Buu, Director of the company, said: "The unit has tested 20 hectares of black soybeans in Chu Se commune for 3 years, achieving high productivity and quality. The company plans to expand the raw material area to about 100 hectares in Chu Se, Mang Yang communes and An Khe ward, aiming for 1,000 hectares by 2030, serving processing and export to the US market."
Commitment to connecting businesses and people
At a working session with the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore and Singaporean enterprises on the afternoon of December 1, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan affirmed: The province supports investment projects, but requests enterprises to closely connect with the people, control seed sources and technical processes, and ensure product quality. At the same time, the province hopes that enterprises will research and build processing factories in the West of Gia Lai to increase product value and limit raw exports.

Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee worked with the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore and Singaporean enterprises.
Regarding the plan to establish an agricultural product testing center, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also agreed, on the condition that the products after testing must be successfully exported to China. This is an important step to protect the reputation of Gia Lai agricultural products in the international market, increase product value, and promote local economic and social development.
"Departments and sectors will support businesses in surveying and investing in testing centers, and at the same time select key products to ensure smooth export to China," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized.
In recent years, the province's export activities have maintained growth momentum. Key products including coffee, wood, seafood and textiles have all grown positively. From October 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province has been assigned to directly issue C/O and approve traders to self-certify origin, contributing to facilitating businesses and shortening the time to process export dossiers.
