Ha Tinh province is promoting green rice cultivation to increase the value per plot of land.

Faced with the increasing pressure of shrinking agricultural land, Ha Tinh province is strongly shifting from traditional production to high-value, sustainable farming practices linked to technology and reduced emissions.

At the launching ceremony for rice production using the System of Intensified Rice Cultivation (SRI) in Ky Anh and Toan Luu communes, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh stated that current agricultural production has been fully mechanized in all stages from land preparation, sowing, planting, spraying, and harvesting, helping to reduce costs and labor, while simultaneously improving rice yield, quality, and income for farmers.

According to Mr. Thanh, the Project on Reducing Emissions in the Crop Production Sector for the period 2025/30 has been issued, localities are actively participating, and farmers are enthusiastically applying tray seedling - machine transplanting, and alternating wet and dry irrigation to save water and limit greenhouse gas emissions.

In the Spring of 2026, the SRI model, linked to the goal of reducing emissions, spread to 12 localities, including Ky Anh commune implementing over 230 hectares and Toan Luu commune 30 hectares, combining the use of organic fertilizers, integrated pest management, and straw collection.

The agricultural sector in Ha Tinh province is continuing to refine support policies, aiming to improve the quality of rice grains and effectively implement commitments to reduce emissions in agriculture.
