Today, December 9, 2025, domestic rice prices only increased slightly in a few rice products, while paddy prices remained stable. Meanwhile, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable.

The rice market on December 9, 2025 changed little with only slight increases in a few rice products.

Rice price today (December 9) remains stable, low supply, slow buying from traders.

• IR 50404 rice (fresh) is priced around 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) is traded at 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) is priced at 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg;
• OM 380 rice (fresh) is around 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is fluctuating around 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 4625 sticky rice (fresh) is at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg; while IR 4625 sticky rice (dried) is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of 3-month-old dry sticky rice is trading around 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Rice prices today (December 9) tend to increase but trading is still quite quiet.

• The price of raw rice IR 50404 is at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; finished rice IR 50404 is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg;
• The price of raw rice OM 5451 fluctuates at 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg (up 200 VND); while raw rice OM 18 costs 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.
• Raw rice OM 380 is priced at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 is priced at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, finished rice CL 555 is priced at 7,340 - 7,450 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 7,550 - 7,650 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of Soc Det raw rice is 7,300 - 7,450 VND/kg. The price of Dai Thom 8 rice is traded around 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg.
• Sticky rice price is 21,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Regular rice is at 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice is priced at 28,000 VND/kg.
• The price of long grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice remains at 22,000 VND/kg.
• The purchase price of common white rice is 16,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Soc Thuong rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; and Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg.
• Taiwanese fragrant rice is currently priced at 20,000 VND/kg; while Japanese rice is currently priced at 22,000 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of fragrant rice bran is at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg, the price of bran is at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remain stable. Accordingly, 100% broken rice is priced at 314 - 318 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is purchased at 420 - 440 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice is priced at 447 - 451 USD/ton.

Thus, the price of rice today, December 9, 2025, has little change compared to yesterday.

Thanh Hoa expands organic rice, Hoa Minh rice attracts market

In the 2025 winter-spring crop, farmers in Xuan Lap commune (Thanh Hoa) continue to expand rice cultivation according to organic processes, entering the second year of applying the clean rice production model with support in seeds, organic fertilizers and technical training. Adhering to the principle of "no chemical fertilizers, no pesticides" helps increase productivity by about 50 kg/sao compared to traditional methods. Xuan Minh Cooperative maintains 10 hectares of organic rice with high-quality varieties such as Thai Xuyen 111, TBR225, TBR39, Gia Loc 35, bringing added value of more than 1 million VND/ha.

The entire commune currently cultivates 215 hectares of rice, of which 80 hectares are produced organically with the main varieties TBR225 and Bac Thom No. 7 KBL. Since 2022, the Cooperative has built a VietGAP raw material area, expanding from 10 hectares to 40 hectares, along with 10 hectares of organic rice. According to Ms. Do Thi Hoa, the goal of the Cooperative is to produce clean rice to serve the domestic and foreign markets, moving towards export, with a synchronized mechanized process from land preparation to packaging.

Despite growing slower, organic rice produces superior quality rice: long, slender, bright white grains, sticky, sweet rice, still soft when cold. Hoa Minh Rice brand is increasingly popular, supplying more than 100 tons per crop to the market in the province and neighboring localities. In November 2022, the product was certified as a 3-star OCOP, helping to increase consumption sharply and stabilize the selling price at 25,000 VND/kg.
