Rice price today, May 13: Rice price turns to decrease sharply

Rice prices today, May 13, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated. The market has a small volume, rice of all kinds is relatively stable, some fresh rice products have decreased sharply compared to the weekend.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently CL 555 raw rice fluctuates at 8,600 - 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 8,000 - 8,100 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 7,150 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice fluctuates at 7,350 - 7,450 VND/kg; bran price fluctuates at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg compared to the weekend.

Recorded in localities today, the demand for white rice is higher than for rice; the supply of 50404 and OM 380 is low, and the price fluctuates little. In An Giang, the supply of rice is low, the price of good rice is stable, and the demand for white raw rice is quite high. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, and the price of all types of rice is stable.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), the flow is slow, the market warehouse buys good rice regularly, the price is stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the flow is small, the buying and selling is slow, the price fluctuates little.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In many localities today, dry rice continues to trade slowly, with sporadic supply; Summer-Autumn rice has a good supply, with prices fluctuating. In An Giang, early-harvested Summer-Autumn rice is slowly recovered, with traders buying sporadicly, with prices fluctuating.

In Tien Giang, summer-autumn rice transactions are sporadic, rice prices are relatively stable. In Dong Thap, rice supply is low, buying and selling transactions are still slow. In Kien Giang, new summer-autumn rice transactions are sparse, prices are relatively stable. In Long An, summer-autumn rice prices do not fluctuate much, new buyers are slow.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 397 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 321 USD/ton.
