Our soursop garden gives big fruit.
Many households in Giong Rieng district said that compared to 2 months ago, the price of custard apple has decreased sharply.
Mr. Le Van Chop, residing in Hoa Loc hamlet, Hoa Loi commune, has about 2.3 hectares of land intercropping guava, durian, custard apple... and said: "I just cut and sold about 1 ton of custard apple to traders for only 40,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 20,000 VND/kg compared to a few months ago."
Mr. Tran Van Lung - a trader specializing in buying custard apples said: "Currently, I go to the garden to buy custard apples at the price of 35,000 - 40,000 VND/kg. Custard apples have a high price during the 7th and 8th lunar months" .
According to some traders, the price of custard apples has decreased because the harvest season has begun, supply is abundant but demand is still low and must compete with custard apples in other provinces.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Loi Commune (Giong Rieng District) Nguyen Thanh Khoi said: "The model of intercropping fruit trees is the main source of income for many households in the commune. However, during the harvest season, there is often a situation of good harvest but low prices, so farmers' profits decrease."
