Durian prices have increased slightly in some provinces today, especially in the Southeast, after many days of stagnation. However, buying power from traders is still not active due to its dependence on export markets - especially China.
The durian market today (July 20) recorded a slight increase in some southeastern provinces such as Tay Ninh and Binh Phuoc , with an adjustment of 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg for Thai durian type A. However, transactions were generally cautious, as traders were cautious in the face of unclear signals from the Chinese market.

In Gia Lai and Dak Lak: Prices have not fluctuated significantly, Thai durian grade A still fluctuates around 75,000 - 78,000 VND/kg, grade B from 55,000 - 58,000 VND/kg, grade C remains at 43,000 VND/kg. Ri6 remains stable.
Although prices increased slightly in some localities, market sentiment in general is not really positive, because export demand has not made a breakthrough.
Currently, Vietnam is under fierce competitive pressure from Thailand and Malaysia - two countries with well-planned strategies in developing durian into a national commodity.
In Malaysia, nearly 200 varieties of durian, notably Musang King, have helped the country capture a portion of the Chinese market. Provinces such as Johor, Pahang, and Penang have also strongly developed durian agricultural tourism, attracting visitors from China, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, the price of Vietnamese durian today ranges from 20,000 - 90,000 VND/kg, reflecting the level of careful classification and quality of each region.
Although exports to China are still taking place, quarantine and technical control requirements from the neighboring country have slowed down the customs clearance of many shipments. This has made domestic traders cautious in purchasing, especially with large orders.
