Durian price today November 28, 2025 peaks, farmers' profits are low

Durian prices today, November 28, 2025, increased in the West due to scarce supply. Thai durian grade 1 reached 125,000 VND/kg, double the same period in 2024.

Price of Thai durian and Ri6 in the West

The durian price market in the Mekong Delta region on November 28 recorded sky-high prices for both Thai and Ri6 durian.

As for Thai durian, type A (good quality) is purchased by traders at the highest price from 115,000 VND to 125,000 VND/kg.

Grade B ranges from VND95,000 to VND115,000/kg, and grade C sells for around VND48,000 - VND65,000/kg.

Particularly, the price of Thai durian "rushed" (unclassified) reaches 75,000 - 80,000 VND/kg.

For Ri6 variety, type A is purchased from 68,000 to 71,000 VND/kg. Type B is priced from 55,000 to 70,000 VND/kg, and type C is fixed at 40,000 VND/kg. Ri6 “push-pull” is commonly traded in the range of 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg.

Update prices of other rare durian varieties

Other durian varieties also maintained high prices. Musang King durian grade A was listed at VND103,000 - 115,000/kg, grade B traded at VND80,000 - 83,000/kg.

Chuong Bo durian grade A costs 63,000 - 68,000 VND/kg, grade B from 48,000 - 53,000 VND/kg. As for Sau Huu variety, grade A is 72,000 - 78,000 VND/kg, grade B from 52,000 - 53,000 VND/kg, and grade C is 40,000 VND/kg.

Off-season durian prices increase sharply but farmers' profits are low

The price of off-season durian in the West is currently higher than the main crop, but only about half of the same period last year. Off-season production costs have increased 2-3 times, causing farmers’ profits to plummet.

Durian supplies are very low because this is the off-season and the shortage could last until March next year. Many orchards were flooded this year, further reducing output.

Although the general price of durian has increased, the market still sees lower prices due to the large amount of surplus goods. This shows that cultivation techniques are still limited in some gardens, causing the fruit quality to not meet export requirements.

Improving care techniques, ripeness control and post-harvest processes will help Vietnamese durian meet higher standards, thereby stabilizing prices and reputation in the international market.
